Seattle Bar Hopping

Its no secret Tony (and to a lesser extent) Adam, has been chatting on Craigslist Forums for years. (no! not the personals sections, the worldwide discussion forums!) So during this trip, we’re meeting lots of folks face to face for the first time. In Seattle, we met up with the Craigslist crew, who I’ll keep to screen-names, and sorry, no photos unless they sign a release form!

Molehunterz and Shylove were to meet up with us after they got off work around 4pm. They had graciously remained flexible with meeting time and place during our scheduling ordeal coming into Seattle. Tony’s been dying to meet them for some time, having chatted with shy for at least a couple of years online, and with moles just a little bit since Tony isn’t on Craigslist much anymore and moles started after Tony tapered off.

Molehunterz had suggested the meeting place, Dragonfish, knowing our limited budget. It has a happy hour all day on Mondays! They had half-sized sushi rolls starting at $2.95 that are quite good, but you HAVE to have one of their Lemongrass infused vodka Lime Rickeys, especially if you like sweet drinks. These are also $2.95. To die for! We ended up probably having at least 4 each. And the place is actually fairly upscale and trendy, and got quite crowded later on.
After the first few rounds of drinks, we got a call that Will and Miriam would be joining us, and Molez also had a friend, Devon join us. So we cashed out and moved to a bigger table (thank you Shy!) After a little bit, I started noting Molez propensity to down the sake, and by the end of the evening we were teasing him about it. The receipt was truly impressive list of many styles of sake, not to mention quantity. I’ve got to get that man a couple of liters from the sake factory in Berkeley! Ever hear of a Sake Kegger? I’ll have to research that. Everyone was thoroughly entertaining and seemed to be having a good time. Will and Miriam bowed out after our light dinner (me missing their departure for my ump-teenth visit to the bathroom), having work & school in the early morning, and we were left with the question of what to do next?

I’m not sure who came up with the idea, but we all paraded up to the Eagle for the next round of frivolity.
SirMatelot from craigslist also joined us to join in the festivities. Then the drinks flowed like water, and we seemed to be the life of the place. Of course there were only maybe 3 other patrons besides out group, but never-mind that! Here we got to singing songs (thanks to sexy Molez, and no, you can’t have the original footage from my camera) and discussing Einstein-Rosenberg bridges (Shy, you’re a debonair genius!), and picking up random Scottish men. After many hugs and a few (appreciated) gropes, we made the trek back to an exhausted sleep.
