Back at Kari and John’s we did a little more visiting, but Kari was spending most of her time resting. Michael had developed a tummy ache and was keeping a bucket close by as he and Beck had been sharing a bed when Beck got sick Thanksgiving night.

Dillon and
Michael had been asleep on the couch and at some point woke up and headed upstairs. Shortly thereafter John shouts for us to bring the bucket up. Adam handed it off to Dillon who raced up the stairs. He didn’t get too far before we heard Michael heave and that wonderful splashing sound which means you are too late.
It was the scene from the Exorcist! Whatever Michael had eaten was green and it had gotten all over John’s shirt, Michael’s shirt and hair, the wall the end table, the lamp and the floor! Luckily it had missed most of the carpeting. John sat Michael down on the floor with the bucket while he and Adam worked on cleanup. Adam kept trying to play the “guess what Michael had eaten game” with the chunks he found.

Aunt Judi had brought some food by for Kari and her family, so Kari wouldn’t have to worry about cooking. She had made some great turkey soup, which Kari shared with us!
On Monday we headed off to do some shopping with Wes and Judi. They had decided to get rid of their entertainment center that they were using as a computer station for Uncle Wes and get a real desk that might put him in a better position. Before we could get going though, we had a few things that needed to get taken care of.
Kari needed to go back and see the doctor to see if there was anything else he could do for her ear and needed a driver, while Wes had a dentist appointment to replace a filling that had come off. Aunt Judi, Tony and Adam headed back to Kari’s while Wes headed off to his appointment. Adam and Tony watched Michael while the girls went to the doctor. Michael was pretty much self sustaining, Adam watched him for a while for amusement more than anything. The girls came back way too soon, the doctor didn’t have any appointments til the next day. Kari was pretty miserable so we decided that irrigating her ear would be a good idea. She has had it done before and we helped her. We managed to get some of the gunk out, which helped her hearing but didn’t do much else.
We left Kari and Michael and hit every store we could think of and didn’t find a computer desk that quite fit the bill. Wrong color, wrong shape, not high enough, etc… After a while Wes, suggested we get a wireless router, that way he could use it wherever. So we picked up a Linksys WRT54G2 and headed back home.
The first order of business was to move the entertainment center, which was solid wood and built like a tank. Wes and Judi had disassembled it as much as was possible prior to us getting there. Despite that, it was still a heavy SOB! We lumbered it out the front door and down the 5 or 6 steps of the porch and made it to the garage without injuring ourselves or any part of the unit or the house, which was not as easy as that sentence!
We then worked on the wireless set-up and found that we had to correct the DSL set-up first. That didn’t take much time but the wireless set-up would not work with security features enabled. So Adam called tech support and tried to find out why the router was not broadcasting its SSID. Tech support was about as helpful as tits on a boar hog (as Grandpa Cliff used to say). He finally got it through to the lady that the issue was not our computer (either of them), but Aunt Judi will never see Adam in the same light again… there will always be a bit of trepidation in her eyes when she sees him now. Despite the 45 minutes with tech support and their generous offer to escalate the call without the additional 9.95 fee, we decided the product was just broken and hung up. After all we had important business to tend to!
Aunt Judi made us spaghetti with home made bread and we had a salad to accompany it. After supper we returned to our game of Kings in the Corner where Wes gradually fell behind and Judi and Adam took the lead. This nights’ games were pretty fun, with some single round victories and some slip-ups that made us all laugh

We stayed at Wes and Judi’s and woke the next morning and headed off to
